HOME THEATER & SOUND -- Movie Review

The 10 Best Movies of 2001

Doug Schneider's picks...

Apocalypse Now Redux
Francis Ford Coppola's classic may be more than 20 years old, but the new version -- completely re-edited and filled with additional footage -- deserves to be treated as a new film. The Vietnam War saga, based on the novel Heart of Darkness, is a visual and aural splendor that can be seen over and over. Unfortunately, the way Hollywood approaches films today it's hard to imagine a movie like this ever being made again.
